DISPLAY ADAPTER FAULT
Are you sufficiently certain that the file you need is not on the hard disk all the
time?
I recommend the following procedure for curing display adapter faults, because it
tests for the presence of the display adapter driver on the hard disk -
Open the Device Manager -
START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL > SYSTEM > DEVICE MANAGER
In Device Manager, highlight the Display Adapter -
1. Click on the "+" sign next to 'Display Adapter'.
2. Click on the actual (named) adapter.
3. Then delete the named adapter by clicking "Remove".
Then reboot. Windows will automatically re-install the correct drivers in the course
of the reboot. You may have to point the install wizard to the location of the proper
driver, which is probably one of these locations -
C:\WINDOWS
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS
