This only happened a week ago. My programs that were already installed were not infected. When I try to install a new program from a cd or a downloaded file this message comes up (This program has been damaged......) or another message (This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down). I have Scan disk, defraged (No bad sectors) system file checker, twice and everything seems to be okay. I use AVG 7.1, Norton version for Win98, Registry Fix, Xoftspy and Registry Mechanic all from a CD. I have downloaded Bug Doctor, Error Doctor. All of them said this computer is free from a virus. It just seems so simple to find but maybe I am not looking in the right place. I have deleted most of the programs mentioned above and reinstalled. Still the same thing. I ran HiJack This. Everything seemed to be okay. This little bug is very tricky.
