I removed the extra DIMM long enough to make the change, and put it back in, and cleared that up, but the ATI Catalyst 6.2 Win9X driver claimed not to find a matching adapter (Radeon X850 XTP); which is a bit odd, since I have an X850 Pro in another PC set up similarly, and the Catalyst 6.2 works with it (last Win 98 drivers, AFAIK).
