Yeah, I had a similar problem with Firefox under Win98. It seems to start a process
but never get as far as drawing a window; you can even click the icon again and end
up with two non-functioning instances running. I also experienced random crashes
of the program. Nothing I did would cure it (including reinstallation) so in the
end I moved to Win XP, partly because it is getting so hard to get software which
is properly supported under Win 98. Unfortunately XP has its own drawbacks on my
old, slow, non-Intel sachine, so I'm thinking of reverting to Win 98. At least now
it'll be a totally clean installation of Win 98 so I would expect any issues to have
gone away.
Let us know how Firefox performs after the reinstallation!
