format error Monday, January 7, 2008 at 1:01 am Windows 98 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by kyle (7 messages posted) when I start the format process in DOS it starts to format until it reaches 18% then errors out, when i run the boot disk, it runs a scandisk and checks other areas but errors out at 16% then says it can not continue to format. I have a windows 98 and 98se discs, and also a windows 98 se boot disk. I have followed the other steps in other forums on the other page to start the format.
