As I said before April the main problem with this type of fault is your video card
drivers. Whats the make of model of your video card?
If you don't know go back to Device Manager and write down whats listed under Display
Adapters.
I would first stick with updating you video card drivers. And if you know your monitor
make and model try and find some drivers for that as well.
As good driver site that I use is DriverGuide
If your monitor is listed as Default monitor double-click on default monitor
and click on the Driver tab and Update Driver... button. Click the Next
button then click the Display a list of drivers in a specific location, so you
can select the driver you want. option button and the Next button.
Then is should list the driver its using at the moment. Click on the Show all
hardware option button and that will show all the default drivers that Win98SE
has to offer.
My mistake April its Super VGA not SVGA, its a long time since I've done this. The
very top one in the Manufacturers list is (Standard monitor types). Find Super VGA
800x600 in the Models list and click the Next button. That will show you its
going to use C:\Windows\Inf\Monitor.inf which should already be on your compter,
just click the Next button.
You can try a restart and just check what it says under Monitors in Device Manager
to see if its retained it. Now you can try to change your colours.
