After a few hours I finally got the Install screen up and felt real good. However,
the wellness was shortlived because the dropdown said "cannot find any of the qualifying
products" and that was that - end of story.
Perhaps I should mention the history of the laptop:
1. Purchased through EBay .
2. It had Win 98 already installed.
3. After formatting the C: drive I used an updated
Second Edition CD which I had bought to update
my Presario desktop some time ago.
4. I used a boot disk on my laptop that enabled me
to reach the Install stage. That's where I am now.
About the Sparky thing, all I can tell you is that it
it was recorded as ID:109347 on this forum.
Thanks again for your interest.
