What WAS said was that calling those files "device drivers" is INCORRECT.

If your monitor is displaying at all,
it means that Windows previously accepted the ICM file;
there is nothing more that needs to be done with that *monitor*.

If the facts were different,
Windows *would* have pitched a fit about your *monitor*.
