Can't change default dial-up number

On Win98SE, Netscape 7.1, ISP changed his number. When I tried to enter the new phone number to replace the old one, there was no way to save it. Thus, I can replace the old number each and every time I dial up, but I cannot get the new phone number to become the default number that comes up automatically. I've tried everything in "properties" everywhere, but there is nothing that will allow me to add a new number or edit the old one and save it for reuse. Any clues, anyone?
