Bob, you should be aware that an IE repair does nothing except re-register files 
and double checks some checksums on some files.  Missing/wrong files or failed checksums 
generate a generic reinstall IE message.  It does not and can not ever replace any 
files, so your advice is a bit perplexing to me - as in why bother?

If you need a file renewed then apply the update with that file in it or re-install 
IE over the top of itself to begin with which ever makes the most sense.  It so happens 
that the last IE Cumulative Update was 916281 and it does have the shdocvw.dll 
file in it so she could just apply/re-apply the update to fix the problem.

Other options are a DOS mode file copy from one machine to hers depending on the 
exact file version needed.  Other files in the update on which to base a needed version 
from are:
