Foolish. Newer verions of that horrible app
at least contain bug fixes and a few security patches.

|of outlook express
|
aka "The World's WORST Email Client".
aka "The Second-WORST Security Hole in Existance".

...and despite the similarities of their names,
Outlook and Outlook Express have almost ZERO in common.
(Yay again with the naming brilliance, Microsoft.)

Take a step into the 21st Century:

http://www.google.com/search?q=Thunderbird+Built-in.Bayesian.filter

It's easy.  (and free)[1]

There is no reason you should have to even download
what is obviously junk email in the first place
--much less have to futz around filtering it IN ADDITION TO wasting the bandwidth.
If you get large amounts of spam,
it's because your mail provider is INCOMPETENT.

If you have a **Gmail** account, you will notice there is near ZERO spam
because Google uses a Bayesian filter on it--first thing.
YOU will hardly ever see any junk at all.
Google has been getting it right for YEARS;
there is NO valid reason YOUR provider can't.

Start by getting a better provider--one with a clue.

...and just because you get your email thru your ISP
(rather than a seperate email provider),
that is no excuse for accepting crappy service;
there are LOTS of good ISPs who know how to do this.
Ask your friends what their spam is like and who they use.

...or you could let Gmail do the heavy lifting:

[1] This software suite http://www.google.com/search?q=mozilla+seamonkey
not only gives you the Mozilla mail client,
it has a replacement for the ABSOLUTE WORST piece of software ever created
--a Mozilla browser like Firefox that's MUCH better than Internet Exploder.
(Once you use Tabbed Browsing, you will LOVE it.)
The AdBlock and NoScript extensions (etc.) are like manna from Heaven.
