Bob, thanks again for your help. The very first thing I experimented, was the Scanreg/Restore
as suggested in similar cases (in this forum). However did not worked out.
The exact error message I'm getting is "Error loading explorer.exe. You must reinstall
Windows" this appears when booting system soon after the wallpaper is displayed.After
I hit OK another message appears indicating "DLL file MSVCRT.DLL not found".
I read something about this dll on Microsoft but is way confusing for me to really
understand the mechanics to copy this DLL and reinstall it! It's too adventurous
for me since I may make problem even worse.
This is why I was thinking of getting a shop to do the job.
Bob I don't know what also to do. I appreciated your kindness and patience with me.

PS Yes, I have been using Add/Delete programs in Cont/Panel, for deletion, but his
time I done it after actually using the Canon uninstall file included in their program
file.
This was my mistake!
