Well, I have since reinstalled Win98 a second time clean with the new network adapter, and the modem removed thinking that something on the old hardware might've caused a bad install. It still failed. I just got done downloading all the correct drivers including chipset, video, sound, modem, and network and it still fails. I guess I'm just going to have to stick with a static IP address. It makes absolutely no sense to me. It has to be something specific to my router here, or to the motherboard of the PC, seems how thats the only thing that hasn't changed.
