Hello there
If anyone could please throw any light on this problem, I would be very grateful.
I am trying to configure an old W98SE COMPAQ PRESARIO 7482 for a friend - I am trying
to configure this for Internet Access, not with much luck I might add!
The spec of the machine in question is as follows
AMD K6-2 550MHZ
512MB (Have upgraded this from 64MB)
15GB HARD DRIVE
I have managed to successfully install my USB WiFi device, so that the PC will "talk"
to my BT Home Hub - so that I can download essential updates etc.
However - the problem seems to be that whenever I navigate to the Microsoft Updates
page, and start to "Check for updates" - I keep getting the dreaded BSOD, telling
me that there are "Fatal Exception Errors" - even though I am not running any other
applications at the time.
Does anyone have any suggestion, to let me know if there is something that I can
try.... before I throw the PC in question out of the window!
Thanks for taking the time to read this.....
Regards
Alex
