It would be good to find someone who has actually verified that.
Obviously the SAME device driver *won't* work for 9x and NT.
You should have to make a *choice* during install
--perhaps as simple as chosing the proper (9x) subdirectory on the install media.
This is ALL about the driver.
If, in fact, it *is* 9x-compatible, maybe there was simply a glitch during the install.
Remove it via Control Panel and try again.
Check the instructions for the USB device
and see whether they specify whether to install the driver first
or the connect the device first. (It varies.)
