The problem is..... When you open a dos window while in windows 98, you are not actually in dos. Many programs and games have to be run directly from dos... not a dos prompt window. The ONLY way to not get these error messages is to restart the computer and boot into ms-dos mode. Also, there may be some issues with loading drivers to play certain games etc. If there are, you have to write a command to load these particular drivers. (you will know if your program/game doesn't start, doesn't work properly, or all together hangs and freezes your computer.)
