"VxD" refers to a Windows virtual device driver.
The first thing you try when you are having problems with Windows
is the troubleshooting mode.
If you start the system in Safe Mode, VxDs won't be loaded.
If the data on that box isn't backed up, do that before proceeding.
Next, test your RAM. Use the tool linked here:

Follow the link and look for the word "Free".
