Hi Zachery - You did not give much feedback about what you have done.
Did you try the registry scan using CCleaner?
Did you find any remnants of AVG still on your system?
Did you find msvcp71.dll on your system?
Did you reinstall AVG while in safe mode? What version did you install? Is it the
same installation file you used originally?
Since you are also having problems with MS Office,
have you tried to reinstall that?
