TalkTalk broadband installation problem

I use TalkTalk broadband through a SmartAx MT882 modem and USB connection. I have
installed it before, often needing several attempts. This time, having reinstalled
Win98SE I cannot get TalkTalk to install the USB drivers. It says file svrapi.dll
is missing. (Previous installations did not produce this message). I downloaded the
dll file but it unpacks as 5 files and I have no idea what to do with it. Is it a
Win98 file?

Is there another way to do this? I have no ethernet socket and don't really want
to alter the machine.

Also, the F-Secure that I rent from TalkTalk really slows the system down. Is there
a better security solution?

I'll be grateful for any help. Thank you.
