Tracy, if getting an internet connection going is your primary goal, I'd stick with 
98 for now. Getting the TCP/IP stack and all the drivers working properly is the 
only real goal. I don't know Ubunto or what support you can acheive with that system..
I'd check with your ISP as to what's the oldest browser you can use. I think without 
online capability, it's going to be I.E. 5.5 SP2..
