Here's how your post looks:

The first 2 paragraphs here are worth reading:

I don't think you understand the term "embedded" at all as it relates to computers.
http://www.google.com/search?q=define:embedded+system
The only thing M$ produces that might be called "embedded" is Windows CE
(now called Windows Mobile)
--and which is quite unlike "Windows" (except for the name M$ slapped on it).

...or perhaps English isn't your first language.

For some reason, I think you barely touched the possibilities on THIS site:
http://google.com/search?q=site:annoyances.org+intitle:"module.Explorer"+"invalid.page.fault
(Learning how to use a search engine effectively
is a 21st Century skill worth cultivating.)

and did everything to fix this problem,
|
If you did *everything*, then obviously the problem is fixed. Congratulations.

|but no luck.
|
Oh, wait. You DIDN'T do "everything".
(That particular hyperbole you used is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.)

|I can't get anything past the Windows 98 startup screen,
|
What happens in Safe Mode?

What happens after you remove all the useless junk from Startup?

How do you check your easily-infected Windoze system for malware?[1]

|and I read your post stating to go from the prompt and type DIR WIN98_47.CAB.
|
It would be good if you read the ENTIRE thread to which you are responding
--or at least THE ENTIRE POST.

...and as I instructed the Original Poster,
the Subject line of the thread should reflect the problem you have.
If it doesn't, it would be a good idea to NOT post to that thread.

The OP in this thread was asking SPECIFICALLY how to reinstall Windoze.
**THAT** was the reason for the response which was given.
Is that what YOU want to do?

OTOH, maybe this is the page you're looking for:
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/win98/1152993699

The 3 types of error messages that are the topic of the *show* page
are quite vague and they cover A LOT of possibilities.
This makes your problem potentially among the most difficult to narrow down.
A lot of folks just go ahead and reinstall Windoze[1]
(after backing up their data files).

The 2nd link on the forum page is broken now. Here is a replacement for that:
cache
of http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article07-002

The last linked item on the forum page
is a web page that has changed completely since that post was made.
(The software developer has tried to take his stuff more commercial.)
Here is a link to a copy of the original content of that page:
cache
of www.digital-handyman.com/ftp/Memtest86%2520-%2520Memory%2520Diagnostic%2520Page.txt

If none of those suggestions improve things,
*then* you should revisit the *Reinstall Windoze* option
--or consider the possibility below.

[1] These days, instead of putting back an 11 year old proprietary OS
--which hasn't even been support by its own vendor for over 3 years--
some folks install something BETTER
(something which isn't easily infected, which improves their freedom,
and which never costs them any money to obtain or to use):
