Thanks Keith,
I don't remember how I deleted it.
(I was really mad!) I use
IE 6.0.2800.1106, updated
through Q916281, WIN98, 1st ed.
Yes, I have three of those
character strings in identities,
and 18 .dbx and .mbx files in OE.
I'll try your suggestions and
let you know.
