You don't say WHY you *need* to do this.
If you did, maybe someone could give you a more elegant solution.

As you say, the system hangs at a line in the script.
Why you think it would then magically move on the the next line is a mystery.
It sounds to me like the SUBST command in the Command Interpreter is corrupted.
Replacing COMMAND.COM with a fresh copy of the same genre
(having the same creation date
and able to pass the same checksum test as the original) is the first thing I'd try.

I'm not sure what you are saying there.
It appears that English is not your first language.
Try saying the same thing using *more* words to describe the idea.
