In case you haven't heard it before
STOP USING INTERNET EXPLORER.
The recent news story which has Google thoroughly steamed
due to Black Hats (apparently working for the Red Chinese government)
who hacked Google's servers in China to do industrial espionage on Google
and to snoop on the Gmail activities of Chinese dissidents.
A previously-unknown security vulnerability in ALL VERSIONS of IE was used.

Wanna guess how much effort M$ is going to put into patching IE6?
M$'s solution is "Use IE8".
"But wait" you say. "IE8 is purposely crippled so it won't work under Win9x."
That's right. Yet another reason to get a non-M$, 21st Century browser.
--as if there weren't ALREADY enough reasons.

Opera's legendary multi-platform support still includes Win9x.
Firefox 2.x supports Win9x.
SeaMonkey 1.x supports Win9x.
Firefox 3.x will run under Win9x **if** you install KernelEx.
All of these are gratis (freeware).
Firefox and SeaMonkey are also Free(dom) Software.
...of course, if you were running Linux, *all* of this would be moot
because Linux *isn't* affected by WINDOZE vulnerabilities.
...and Linux is FREE and will run on your current hardware.
