I don't go inside the computer, since I don't know what I'm doing. I'd rather
pay someone to do that part for me. They have some pretty good people here. I always
get a written estimate up front and they don't fix anything without telling me first.
The verbal estimate I got so far on the phone sounded pretty reasonable. If it is
just a matter of a Windows reinstall, it is not too bad. If it's a simple fix like
updating the driver, they will charge less.
They also back everything up for you before they do reinstall or anything, so
it's safer and easier than it would be for me. I don't mind paying a little for things
like that.
I did look into the more modern version of the TV Wonder at one point. I forget
why I didn't like it. It may not run transcripts; I'm not sure. I'd have to check
again and try to remember.
I don't know about I love lucy, but more than half of the garage is filled with
boxes, stacked high. We can barely fit the car in. It is mostly collectibles, Christmas
presents, some furniture, and old stuff. The house we just moved from had more rooms
and was bigger, but it didn't have a garage.
You should have seen the dining room, it is filled with boxes of videos, dvd's,
audio tapes, records, and books! Less so now since I've been going through it...
