Win2k Annoyance

I'm a new Win2k user on a fresh, full install (no upgrade version) and all the
critical updates (not SP2). I'm finding it seems to work fine, except for one little
annoying quirk: It won't shut down my computer. What I mean is that the operating
system seems to shut down fine, but for some reason the final "kill" signal
isn't being sent to my ATX power supply to power down or restart. I get dumped at
a blank (black) screen with the cursor flashing away in the top left corner. This
only happens in Win2k. In Win98SE, shutdown performs normally.
I did check the logs that Win2k generates and it does show an error with my Zip
100:
System Log:
The ZipToA service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The
following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No action.
Application Log:
Error: DeviceUnlock: \\.\H:
file = I:\projects\ioware20\winnt\app\ZipToA\SRC\ZipToA.cpp
line = 868
error code = 2
message = The segment is already unlocked.
Note: H: is the designation for the zip drive without the Iomega drivers
installed. Once they're in, the Zip moves to B: . I: is my HP CD-R/RW, whether the
Iomega drivers are installed or not.
Note: These errors are recorded right after boot-up.
I'm using the latest drivers from the Iomega site, which are supposed to be compatible
with Win2k. Uninstalling the Iomega drivers didn't help me any. Maybe the two problems
aren't related.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have a fix for it (or can
tell me where to start looking)?
Thanks in advance,
NightCrawler
p.s. - Sorry about the length of this post, I just wanted to be thorough.
