There's no conflicts, no corrupted x.wav, changed drivers, tried new y.wav and it does sound corrupted, so I know that whatever is playing the sound is hacking it up, but I'm only opening it with two other programs, sys tray, pointer, scan registry...so before I really goof things up, I'm giving up. Now if you can fix my problem with my other C:\'s not booting up anymore, I'll just go with that and be a happy camper. (this was all done with the thought that I would have a more robust and reliable system). If I could only go back to my 6.5G HD, no ATA/100 controller, no 2 45G HDrives, no 640M RAM, no multiple partitions that now letter up to L:\...and not have this many problems...lol.
