MG;
Here's something that might help.
Click on "START" then "RUN" and enter MSCONFIG in the open field. Click "OK" then
click on the start up tab. Check the list of programs to see if there is anything
related to internet work and uncheck it. Reboot and see if the problem goes away.
The only thing that "has" to be checked here is SYSTRAY.
If you have your Windows CD or a set of CAB files you could try un-installing then
re-installing you DUN (Dial Up Networking) as follows:
Open the control panel (Start>settings>comtrol panel).
Open add/remove programs.
Click on the Windows set up tab.
Select Communications then click on the "details" button.
Remove the check from Dial Up Networking.
Click the "OK"s to exit add/remove programs
When prompted to restart click "YES"
After your computer reboots go back and place the check back in the DUN box under
communications of add/remove programs>Windows set up.
Don't worry, any connectoids in the DUN folder will still be there but it's not a
bad idea to open their properties by right clicking the connectoid icons and then
click on properties. Make a note of the settings for back up. You may even want to
do this anyway and delete the connectoid before removing the DUN then recreating
it once the DUN is back.
Best of luck, Bill
