Go to Start button | Settings | Folder Options | File Types tab, scroll down to Drive and click the Edit button. Use the Change Icon button and browse to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\shell32.dll. Select the 3rd icon and OK your way out.

Somehow the hard drive icon in Windows Explorer (Win98) has changed from the usual grey icon, to the icon for files that aren't associated with any programs (a blank sheet of paper with a small Windows logo). I've seen this in another computer also, but I never figured out how to change it back. All the other icons are normal. Have any idea how to get the real icon back?
