Hello,
The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear your story is that someone installed 
a backdoor on your computer. If that's the case, whenever you are online, someone 
can shutdown your computer remotely when they wish. I would recommend getting a virus 
scanner, updating to the most recent virus definitions, and then running a full scan 
of your system.
