No, Bill built in a delay to annoy people like you!Seriously,
getting rid of the splash screen achieves nothing, there's heaps of stuff going on
behind the scenes at bootup. Next time you boot, hold the control key and select
Logged Boot from the menu you'll get. When it's finished open bootlog.txt with notepad,
and you'll get an idea of how your 28 seconds is being used.
