Can anyone tell me why my Windows '98 desktop PC no longer automatically shuts down?
For years it did and now I get the annoying "It is now safe to turn off your computer"
message.
The Advanced Power Management thingy does not have any options for automatic shutdown
-- just two options; one for showing the power meter on hte taskbar and one for prompting
for password after standby.
The weird thing is sometimes the computer DOES shut down automatically, but most
of the time does not. This all came about after switching to cable ISP and installing
a firewall (Tiny Personal Firewall).
Any ideas?
Thanks!
