If you are getting unknown device at startup it means that you have not removed the
sound card from the box. It also means that windows is searching for the right driver
for it. Again you have to physically remove the card and have the correct drivers
available. If you have removed the card and the message is still coming up it means
one of two things:
1. you will have to remove the entry from the registry
or
2. it is not the problem and another device is causing this error.
You can, if you want, begin by removeing ALL devices from your system and readding
them one by one to see which is causing the error.
or
remove all devices, re-install windows clean (reformat) and, once again, see which
one is causing the error.
