Microsoft has a patch program to solve the shutdown problems on some
machines. Find it at their site, download it and install it according to
their instructions.
There is a category "Exit Windows" in Sounds. By default it has
no sound assigned to it, but if you highlight it, you can assign a sound.
"Logoff.wav" might be a good choice. If you don't have the
"Jungle" "Musica" "Robotz" and "Utopia" theme sets of sounds showing as
choices, you can add them from your Win98 CD using Start/Control
Panel/Add-Remove Programs/Windows Setup.
