I have a question about Do
I still need CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT?:
Well, I have an older compaq computer with a 32X CDROM. It just so happens that
the drivers are not located in windows(95/98/ME/Windows2000). Thus, if I remove
the config.sys and the autoexec.bat, the CDROM becomes a ghost! Compaq does not support
any drivers other then the one I was able to locate for DOS. With the driver defined
in the config.sys and autoexec.bat files, win-95 and win-98 will see the CDROM.
Since ME and Windows2000 do not use the files I have not been able to update this
(Still very functional) processor, since multiple boots are required on installation,
and windows drivers do not exist.
