I have a question about What to do about error messages during Windows startup:

Upon Windows 98 start up I get the error message:Exshell caused an invalid page fault in module Exshell.exe at 017f:0040e74d. A few days before I downloaded Internet Explorer 6 from Microsoft website. Could this be the cause of the problem or is it something more sinister like a virus? I checked the Microsoft database for any reference to Exshell and came up empty.
