The final registry key listed in the article is "Net", however the correct registry key you should be checking under is "NetTrans". There you will find the TCP/IP values that match the description above. And it is in those keys that you should place the MaxMTU value. Also you will not have to worry about the decimal bit vs binary selection mentioned above.
