Change the Icons of Desktop Items might go to too much trouble (Michaelangelo) and risk (registry). Try this instead: (1) search the web and download some blank.ico. (2) right-click Desktop, select Properties option, Effects tab, select a desktop icon (repeat as necessary), Change Icon button, Browse button and select your blank.ico. (3) Don't bother renaming your icons, just drag them so their captions are just below the bottom edge of your desktop. Happy computing!
