I have a question about Do I still need CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT?:

My PC is currently showing three different config.sys files; one is under C:\, one is under Norton System Works (for my rescue disk - so it says, though I've never made one), and one is in something called Windows\Command\EBD (I've no clue where this one came from). Is it truly safe to delete all of these? I am experiencing all kinds of problems with my Win '98 system, and wonder if this is a part of it.
