I have a question about Identifying the programs that Windows runs at boot:

Is it possible that there are more places where programs are started at boot? If I start windows98 and the desktop comes up there allways seems to be done a lot of work in the background (much more than IŽam used to - about 2 Minutes!) and then the explorer opens at C:\WINDOWS although there is no program left in the startfiles or registry-places you listed in your message. I also checked for viruses and closed the window before shutting down. (The changes at the desktop were saved too) I canŽt imagine what the reasons are... Any ideas?
