START-PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS-SYSTEM INFORMATION. Now comes the fun part
:) Click on "TOOLS". Drop down to "SYSTEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY" and click on it.
Go over to the 6th tab (STARTUP) and click on it. You should now be looking at the
entire list of programs that are capable of starting when Windows starts. Every computer
is different, so as an example, here's what I left checked; ScanRegistry, SystemTray,
LoadPowerProfile, and AtiKeyCwd32. That's it. When my computer starts, I have 95%
of system resources available. Not bad for a dinosaur (300mhz Celeron w/256Megs of
RAM). One last thing; when you're done checking and unchecking the boxes, your computer
will want to restart. Let it.
