Question about 'Get rid of Shortcut Residue'

I have a question about Get rid of Shortcut Residue:

I just downloaded and installed the MS security updates for 3/28/02. As soon as I did this the overlay shortcut arrows reappeared on the desktop shortcuts. I attempted to correct this by using the options in tweakui, but even setting the option to "no arrow", the arrows still remain. Any ideas?? Thanks
