Question about 'Do I still need CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT?' Thursday, May 9, 2002 at 7:56 pm Windows 98 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Dave Boehr (3 messages posted) When I boot up my computer I get a message saying that I am missing: C:\Progra~1\Symantec\symevnt.386. The computer works fine but this annoyance stops my boot and I then I have to "Hit any key" to continue. I have checked my Registry for any reference with no luck. I have tried to find my autoexec.bat file but it refers me to autoexec.tsh but that file seems to be empty. There does not seem to be any reference to this in my win.ini or system.ini files.
