Question about 'How do I disable the warning message when I view the Windows folder?'

hi.i just read the article on how to disable the "show files" in the windows folder.i tried it but it does not take effect on my pc! when i click 'like this folder' the message confirmation box appears amd i press ok.after that the files hide again! what might be the reason?
