I have a question about Troubleshooting Driver Problems:

I have recently acquired a tiger computer that has been upgraded from 95 to 98. I have no sound at all and the cd-rom will not play media on any player.Under multimedia drivers; audio, midi devices&instruments, mixer devices and line input devices are listed as no drivers installed. This computer was used in a business , and I'm wondering if it was purposefully set up like that because there is one in the office where I work that reacts the same way. Under cd-rom drive it lists mitsumi cd-rom FX3205 !B and UTI as the drives (hardware?) in device manager. Also I am bombarded with "have to close program" or "illegal function" messages out of the blue. Any help would really be appreciated.
