I have a question about What to do about error messages during Windows startup:

70% of the time when I start or reboot windows 98 on my PC I get an error message"C:\windows\system\vmm.32.vdx:missing/unable to load" Then my system shuts itself down. When I finally get the OS to boot it opens safe mode. I sometimes have to reboot 5,6,7 times before things open up normally. HELP! I am ready to throw my PC out the window.
