Question about 'How do I stop a program from running whenever I start Windows?'

How do I get rid of the Dial-up Connection Box which appears on my desktop when I
start Windows 98. I cannot remove it easily. I have not installed any new software
recently. Please reply in easy instructions as I am no computer expert
