Question about 'Share an Internet Connection'

I have a question about Share an Internet Connection:

I have recently followed the instructions contained in the article "Setting up an Internet Sharing (Windows 98) at http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/ics_98. The instructions were fine and I have achieved ICS using a cable modem. Since this time I have noticed that my TCP/IP connection will regularly fail and I'm forced to disconnect and then reconnect. This usually occurs after about 5 to 10 minutes and is becoming a bit of an annoyance. Is there a problem that I can rectify or is this situation unavoidable due to the sharing?

Kent: I enabled network sharing recently and was unable "to find server" as a result. When removed using Control Panel>System>Device Manager, the server was magically found again. If you must have sharing I would email your IPS support people for a fix.

Dump ICS! It's rubbish along with the majority of other MS products! Having said that I actually use alot of them, but I have found ICS a royal pain. I now use Proxy Plus which is free. It takes a little while to set up, but it performs beautifully. And, best of all, there is a very active forum for discussion and tips.
