I have a question about Resolving Hardware Conflicts:

When i use the set configuration manually option in the device manager resources section to change settings, i get a windows message telling me.. NO MODIFICATIONS ALLOWED THIS RESOURCE SETTING CANNOT BE MODIFIED. How can i resolve this problem in order to manually change settings and fix the conflicts ?.

Hi Ashley -

I had a similar problem with my PC (HP Pavillion), and it turned out that my top two PCI slots defaulted to the same IRQ. I have no real explanation as to why, but the only way I found to fix it was to simply not use conflicting devices in those slots (I moved my video and sound cards down the chain).

There may well be a better way to do it, but what worked for me was to uninstall the devices (Add/Remove Hardware), then reinstall them in different slots.

Good luck!
