When I use the Start Menu to Shut Down the Computer never goes off.

you might check Windows UPDATE...it's the World Icon on the Start menu ...or... http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/downloads/corporate.asp

I've checked that update, it didn't work for my system.
This means I cannot reinstall Win98 SE the normal way, instead I use Symantec Ghost
to reinstall the image of my computer when I received it from my dealer after checkup.
(They couldn't tell me what they had done to fix it).
I would be grateful for another way to fix it,
knowing that not everyone has access to such a marvelous tool like Ghost.
